Scottish folk, roots, acoustic and traditional artists have an exciting opportunity to reach new audiences and industry contacts through Showcase Scotland Expo’s partnership with English Folk Expo (EFEx) 2027.
Showcase Scotland Expo is inviting applications from Scottish-based artists to be considered for a special Scottish showcase at English Folk Expo in Manchester on Friday 12 March 2027. EFEx is a major meeting point for the folk, roots and acoustic music industry, bringing together around 200 UK and international delegates, including bookers, festival programmers, agents and other music professionals.
There are two performance places available for new applicants. Artists selected for the showcase will receive a £200 performance fee per musician, accommodation and per diems, plus a contribution towards travel costs. They will also receive free access to the artist-focused conference, EFEx Trade Fair and Manchester Folk Festival public events.
There is also an opportunity for artists who are not selected to perform: 20 artists will be longlisted, with their promotional materials featured on the Showcase Scotland Expo stand at the EFEx trade fair, giving delegates the chance to discover and connect with export-ready Scottish talent.
This is a valuable opportunity for artists looking to build UK and international touring networks, industry relationships and export opportunities. English Folk Expo reports that its showcases have a strong track record of generating further bookings and connections.
