March Monthly Meet-up: featured guest announcement

We are excited to announce our next Monthly Meet-up will take place on Thursday 21st March and will feature headline guest, Ben Price. Ben is a UK-based Artist Manager with a focus on disabled integration in the music industry. Please register via the form at the end of this post, as spaces are limited.

About Ben

Following a career as a tour manager, Ben began to shift his focus into management after learning of a degenerative eye condition, meaning inevitably in time he would need to come off the road. Harbourside Artist Management was established in 2020 to help bridge the apparent gap between disability arts and pop culture.

Ben is a prominent advocate for disability access within the music industry, contributing to the BPI’s Equality, Diversity and Intersectional work for its members, award shows, events and The BRIT Trust. He is also on the board of Trustees at Attitude is Everything, a charity connecting disabled people with music and live event industries to improve accessibility.

This 60-90 minute session will be of particular interest for aspiring artists and industry professionals, although everyone is welcome.

Ben will be discussing:

  • His journey from Tour to Artist Manager, and how we adapted his career trajectory in response to sight loss.
  • What an Artist Manager does, and what qualities he looks for in aspiring artists.
  • His views on disclosing disability within the music industry, and tips for communicating access requirements.
  • Progress he has seen within the music industry regarding inclusion, and initiatives that may be relevant to you.

This will be a relaxed, informal discussion and audience participation is encouraged. We will be prioritising questions submitted in advance of the event, so we advise that you contact us with any questions you may have so that we can ensure that they are included in the discussion. We hope that there will also be time for Q&A, so that you have the opportunity to ask any questions that may occur to you during the session. Please note that this session will be recorded and published on podcasting platforms, so if you contribute during the session, you are consenting to appearing in the recording. This session is open to all ages, but we advise that children or young people wishing to attend the session should be accompanied by an adult.
