UK artists and bands who have built momentum in their careers can apply for grants of £5,000–£15,000 through the PPL Momentum Music Fund, with the next deadline on 26 October 2026.
Managed by PRS Foundation in partnership with PPL, Creative Wales and Arts Council of Northern Ireland, the fund is designed for artists who have reached a crucial tipping point and are ready to take the next significant step in their creative and professional development. The average award is around £10,000.
Funding can contribute towards recording, songwriting, UK touring, marketing and promotion, as well as equipment, software and hardware (up to 20% of eligible costs). Applicants are expected to demonstrate how the funding will have a significant impact on their career and should normally have other income or investment contributing to the project.
Applicants should be UK-based artists or bands who write and perform their own music, have evidence of a growing national and regional fanbase and UK-wide media coverage, and have at least one established team member such as a manager, booking agent, label, publisher, PR/plugger or lawyer. Artists signed to major-label deals are generally ineligible.
The fund supports contemporary popular music, spanning genres including indie, electronic, urban, pop, rock and emerging styles. Previous recipients include Little Simz, Sam Fender, Kae Tempest, Knucks, Shygirl and Big Joanie.
